It's a good hotel for the price. Some of the staff are very friendly.
No wifi in certain rooms, only those facing the pool seem to have that.

During my recent business trip to Koh Samui, I had the pleasure of staying at the First Residence Hotel - Sha Plus, which was chosen by my director. The hotel's peaceful atmosphere immediately set the tone for a relaxing and productive stay. I was particularly impressed with the range of recreational facilities available, such as the outdoor pool, massage services, solarium, and pool area. There were plenty of comfortable and inviting sun beds provided, allowing me to unwind and soak up the sun after a busy day of meetings. The ambiance created by these facilities truly enhanced my overall experience at the First Residence Hotel - Sha Plus.
While my stay at the First Residence Hotel - Sha Plus was excellent overall, there was one minor issue that I encountered.

Nice hotel, situated at the south of Chaweng Beach: far enough to avoid the noisy area, but close enough to walk. The beach is at 5 minutes walk, however you should also go to try the beaches from Lamai. The room was big and clean, with a decent balcony. As they promised, the staff provided daily drinking water, coffee and tea (to do it yourself) for free. The breakfast was delicious (if I remember well, i had a fried egg, ham, fresh juice, toast with butter and jam, fresh fruits: papaya and watermelon). The wifi wasn't free in the room, but they had 3 PCs at the reception with free internet access (usable up to 23 o clock). The swimming pool was clean and we swam a couple of times, but the don't have (or turn on) the jacuzzi as I though they will.
The bathroom was modern, but not really new (there where chalk stains on the sink, the shower was a little rusty), however it was nice and clean. The water temperature changed sometimes during the shower from warm to cold, but this happened to me at almost all hotels in Thailand.

My perfect stay at First Residence Hotel - Sha Plus was made even better by the ideal location. It was just a short walk to the beautiful Chaweng beach, where I could relax on the beach chairs available for hotel guests. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay. The room was spacious and clean, and the view from the balcony was amazing. While the breakfast selection could have been better, it had enough options to satisfy my hunger. I also appreciated the reliable and free WiFi throughout the hotel. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

May not be the best value on the island (there are beach bungalows for similar prices nearby), but it was pretty good and gives better service and cleaner than a bungalow. Room was clean, no bugs at all. Beds were comfortable. The room had plenty of furniture. The bathroom was fair, they cleaned the room every day and gave fresh towels, air conditioning worked very well, breakfast buffet was good, our balcony was big, looked down over the pool, pool was nice, plenty to do on the street while not being in the overwhelming resort/bar/shopping strip. There's a great place to rent scooters across the street for 200 baht a day ($6.50 U.S.), and a few decent restaurants within a short walk. Beach and shopping/resort area is a 10 minute walk
They charged us 800 baht ($26.50 U.S.) for a lost room key, which we thought was crazy. That's not much less than a night in the hotel. Ask for the chart of addtional fees when you check in. Every hotel in Thailand treats toilet tissue like a rare commodity so make sure you ask for extra when you check in. Take a roll with you when you go out for the day, you'll need it.

I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The location was ideal, being on the outskirts of Chawengi meant it was in a quiet area, but still only a short 5-minute walk to Chaweng Noi beach. The staff here were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. The rooms were clean, spacious, and had a lovely balcony with a great view. It was also a nice touch that breakfast was included in our rate, with a good selection of food to choose from.
All aspects of my stay at this hotel were great, I couldn't find anything to fault.

The room was big and comfortable. Close to the airport.
In the toilet the tab was leaking and as a result the floor was wet all the time (we had 5 rooms all together, and it turned out in the morning, that they had the same problem in all 5 rooms). In our room there were previous guests hair on toilet floor. The restaurant was the biggest disappointment. Some of us did not get the drinks we ordered- they simply forgot! The ones that ordered food first got the food last (after others had already finished their food). The portions were really small, we ordered steak and fries - there were 6 pieces of french fries!!!! And the staff spoke very bad english. We waited 30 min to get the bills, finaly we left, leaving the money on the table! Absolutely incompetent staff!
